Mozilla has just unveiled the second beta of its WIP browser Firefox 3. This new beta apart from bringing bug fixes and improvements over the previous versions, also tackles an issue that has received a lot of bad press over the years i.e. memory handling.Apart from these factors a few changes have been made with regard to the download manager to improve its usability and information display, the bookmarking and history system which have been redesigned and new visual styles for Linux and Mac.
This new introduction marks a crucial phase for the development of Firefox 3. The beta 2 will soon lead into the final feature development of the browser and its release sometime mid next-year. I have been tracking and utilizing the browser since its alpha release and barring a few builds they have been remarkably stable.
The Beta 2 along with its release notes is available here. If you are daring and willing to try a nightly build... head on over here.
